Gavin Hall to join Texas roster in the fall
Gavin Hall will take his second shot at college golf this fall when he enrolls at Texas. The team announced Thursday on Twitter that Hall has committed to joining the roster in the fall. Hall originally committed to play for UCLA and arrived as a redshirt freshman in January. He left the Bruins in February.
Hall will join a trio of newcomers at Texas, ranked No. 3 by Golfweek, that includes Beau Hossler, who enrolled in January but did not play in the spring, and Kalena Preus.
Hall, a native of Pittsford, N.Y., graduated from high school in December to join the UCLA roster.
“It was about me, as an athlete, not feeling comfortable,” Hall told Rochester Homepage after leaving Los Angeles.
Hall’s list of junior and amateur golf accomplishments include the 2012 Ping Invitational and the 2011 Junior Players Championship. He was a member of the 2012 U.S. Junior Ryder Cup and was runner-up at the 2010 Porter Cup as a 15-year-old.
