MILTON, Ga. -- What a finish at the NCAA Championship.

After seemingly in the clubhouse with a spot in the Elite 8, Texas A&M was penalized for slow play in its final group and dropped into a four-way tie for sixth.

In the subsequent 4-for-3 playoff, the Aggies were the odd team out.

Cal, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Texas, Illinois, New Mexico, UNLV and Arizona all advanced.

See how it all unfolded:

• • •

Update #33: 7:57 p.m. EDT

We are headed to a 4-for-3 playoff between UNLV, New Mexico, Texas A&M and Arizona State. It's a shotgun start, with all five players playing a different hole and the scores being added at the end to determine the odd team out.

• • •

Update #32: 7:29 p.m. EDT

Texas A&M has fallen back into a playoff after its last player, Tyler Dunlap, received a one-shot penalty for slow play after his round, which dropped the team to 2 over. UCF's Greg Eason was also penalized, while Arizona State did not receive a penalty.

A&M will join New Mexico, UNLV and Arizona State in a 4-for-3 playoff.

Following up on an earlier item, Cal's Max Homa was not penalized for missing check points and will remain at 9 under, currently two ahead of Florida State's Daniel Berger, who has three holes to play.

• • •

Update #30: 6:58 p.m. EDT

Florida State's Daniel Berger has moved to 7 under with a birdie at the par-3 6th hole and is now only two back of Cal's Max Homa. And with that birdie, Florida State also moves into a four-way tie for seventh.

Update #25: 6:41 p.m. EDT
