Jorge Garcia and Cameron Young each won two matches on Thursday to advance to Friday's championship match of the Polo Golf Junior Classic.

But it wasn't easy.

Garcia was 2 down through 14 holes in his quarterfinal match against Sam Burns before closing his match with four straight birdies and a 2-up victory. He then topped Sam Horsfield, 3 and 2, in the semifinals after Horsfield routed Golfweek's top-ranked junior, Scottie Scheffler, 7 and 5, in the quarterfinals.

On the other half of the bracket, Young, playing in just his second AJGA event, defeated Brad Dalke, 2 up, in the quarterfinals before ousting Nathan Jeansonne, 2 and 1, in the semifinals.

In the girls tournament, Alabama signee Lakareber Abe topped Lilia Vu and stroke-play medalist Kristen Gillman to advance to the championship match. She'll face Linnea Strom, who notched 1-up victories over Bethany Wu and Sierra Brooks on Thursday. She also defeated Golfweek's top-ranked junior Nicole Morales in the first round.
