Here's a look at our staff predictions for Day 2 alternate-shot foursomes at the Presidents Cup, set to begin at 1:10 p.m. EDT at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio:

Jeff Babineau, Editor

U.S. 4, Internationals 2

Match 7: Mickelson-Bradley d. Day-DeLaet, 2 up

The darlings of Medinah get a point on the board after a disappointing debut.

Match 8: Els-de Jonge d. Haas-Mahan, 2 and 1

Els will have to play and putt better than he did Thursday, but he has a horse alongside him.

Match 9: Stricker-Spieth d. Grace-Sterne, 3 and 2

The old man and the kid roll on, mostly on the strength of quality putting.

Match 10: Simpson-Snedeker d. Cabrera-Leishman, 2 and 1

Cabrera and Leishman were steamrolled Thursday, but will give the U.S. a tougher fight.

Match 11: Woods-Kuchar d. Oosthuizen-Schwartzel, 3 and 2

Tiger and Kuchar are playing care-free, and their opponents can't afford some of the loose shots they hit in four-ball.

Match 12: Scott-Matsuyama d. Dufner-Johnson, 1 up

Scott is exuding a confidence that is tough to match, and he has a confident young partner, too.

Internationals 4, U.S. 2

Match 7: Day-DeLaet d. Mickelson-Bradley, 1 up.

International duo riding high after four-ball comeback, and Mickelson’s swing was out of whack Thursday.

Match 8: Els-deJonge d. Haas-Mahan, 2 and 1.

DeJonge made eight birdies on the first 15 holes Thursday. He needs his Hall of Fame partner to improve from Day 1. Haas and Mahan were on teams Thursday that gave up at least 2-up leads. Mahan made only two birdies Thursday, none after No. 4.

Match 9: Stricker-Spieth d. Grace-Sterne, 4 and 3.

When Spieth finally calmed down and got acclimated, he made five birdies on the back nine Thursday. Grace and Sterne combined for only three birdies in four-ball.

Match 10: Cabrera-Leishman halve with Simpson-Snedeker.

Simpson didn’t hit a green in regulation after the 14th hole on Day 1. Cabrera and Leishman combined for just four birdies in four-ball – three fewer than Snedeker did alone.

Match 11: Woods-Kuchar d. Oosthuizen-Schwartzel, 3 and 2.

Woods-Kuchar rolled on opening day and show no signs of slowing down. Oosthuizen was off his ball-striking game Thursday.

Match 12: Scott-Matsuyama d. Johnson-Dufner, 1 up.

Adam Scott is a man on a mission, and the hunch here is he will coax the best out of his young, gifted sidekick. Matsuyama's confidence grew after hitting his last approach shot stiff for halved match.

U.S. 4, Internationals 2

Match 7: Mickelson-Bradley d. Day-DeLaet, 2 up

Hoping for no rain delays, the USA’s strongest team from Medinah should get it done.

Match 8: Els-de Jonge d. Haas-Mahan, 2 and 1

The International duo looked great on Thursday and de Jonge was a force. The USA squad had to be re-jiggered for a reason.

Match 9: Stricker-Spieth d. Grace-Sterne, 2 and 1

It’s not clear why Price kept the International duo together, but the USA team showed they can get it done and no reason they can’t keep it going Friday.

Match 10: Simpson-Snedeker halve with Cabrera-Leishman

Let’s be honest; neither team seems like world-beaters. A tie would only be just.

Match 11: Kuchar-Woods, d. Oosthuizen-Schwartzel, 1 up

Woods has found a partner and will need to count on him big time to defeat the one of the best International pairings.

Match 12: Scott-Matsuyama d. Johnson-Dufner, 3 and 2

The Internationals pairing showed a lot of resilience Thursday; they will build on that in foursomes.
