Stanford, Stackhouse win Edean Ihlanfeldt titles

Stanford's women's team notched its first victory of the season Wednesday, capturing the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational by 27 shots.
The Cardinal, ranked 11th in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, carded rounds of 285-283-295 en route to a 1-under 863 total at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash. Second-ranked Washington finished runner-up at 26-over 890. Central Florida (898), Oregon (903) and California (906) rounded out the top 5 teams.
Stanford also boasted the top two individuals. Mariah Stackhouse shot 7-under 209 (68-70-71) to win medalist honors by three shots over teammate Mariko Tumangan (4-under 212). Stackhouse and Tumangan were the only two players under par for the tournament.
UC Davis' Bev Vatananugulkit was solo third at 1-over 217 while Washington's Soo-Bin Kim, ranked No. 4 by Golfweek, was fourth at 3-over 219. Washington's Charlotte Thomas and Ying Luo, Golfweek's third- and 10th-ranked players, respectively, each finished outside the top 10 at 8 over.
In its first two fall events, the Cardinal finished T-3 at the Windy City Collegiate and eighth at the NCAA Fall Preview. Stackhouse has now finished in the top 10 individually in all three fall events for Stanford while Tumangan has notched two top 10s.
