California has won five consecutive Alister MacKenzie Invitational titles by a combined 57 shots.

On Oct. 15, the Golden Bears claimed their third title of the season, shooting 39-under 825 at Sonoma Golf Club for a 22-shot victory over UC Davis.

In 2012, Cal won the MacKenzie by 20 shots, posting a 46-under total. Cal tied with Oregon for the title in 2011, eclipsing the rest of the field by eight. In 2010, Cal set the tournament scoring mark at 48 under yet won by only two shots. At the inaugural event, the Golden Bears won by five at 23 under.

The team is a combined 197 under par in the last five MacKenzie Invitationals.

The Bears also have claimed the top spot on the individual leaderboard in the past two seasons and three in the last five. This season, senior Joel Stalter won with rounds of 64-69-70. Fellow senior Brandon Hagy won in 2012 with rounds of 64-62-72. Stephen Hale won in 2009.

Cal’s next tournament is the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational at Isleworth G&CC in Windermere, Fla.
