Oklahoma St. outlasts Ga. Tech at U.S. Collegiate

Oklahoma State used a final-round, 4-under 284 to clear Georgia Tech by a single stroke at the U.S. Collegiate Championship on Sunday at the Golf Club of Georgia.
The Cowboys, currently No. 7 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, were led by Wyndham Clark with a 4-under 68, while Talor Gooch added a 1-under 71.
It was Oklahoma State's first victory of the fall after two consecutive third-place finishes to open its 2013-14 season.
The Yellow Jackets, No. 3 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, came up short despite Ollie Schniederjans' medalist honors, with the junior clearing the field by four shots, firing a 1-under 71 on Sunday to finish at 10 under overall.
Four Oklahoma State players finished in the red overall, with Clark and Ian Davis finished T-4 at 4 under; Walker Cup player Jordan Niebrugge was 3 under despite a 2-over 74 on Sunday; and Gooch finished at 1 under with rounds of 72-72-71.
The Cowboys and Jackets lapped the field, with Wake Forest finishing third at 2 under -- 12 strokes behind Georgia Tech.
