Third-round scores

Chang-woo Lee of Korea will take a one-shot lead on Zecheng Dou into the final round of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship. The top 10 players on the leaderboard are only separated by seven shots after 54 holes at Nanshan International Golf Club in Longkou City, China.

Lee, the second-round co-leader, shot 2-under 69 in the third round of the event on Oct. 26, a score matched by Dou. Lee stands at 2-under 211 after 54 holes, and Dou, of China, has a 212 total. The winner receives an invitation to the 2014 Masters Tournament.

Lee, 19, opened up with a birdie at the par-5 first but gave it back just two holes later after a bogey at the par-3 third. He played the more difficult back nine in just 33 shots.

“This is my third time playing at this tournament, but it feels a lot different this time [to be in contention],” said Lee. “I played okay today – my driver was a bit shaky, but my approach shots and putting were good. I’m going to try and do my best tomorrow.”

First-round leader Dou also took advantage of the day’s favorable scoring conditions in Round 3. The sun was shining and gusty winds that plagued the field in the opening rounds quieted to a consistent breeze. The 16-year-old offset bogeys at Nos. 11 and 12 with four birdies – including two in the last four holes.

“My irons were back in shape again and I hit some really good shots,” said Dou, who earlier this year made the cut at the China Open. “I think I’m in pretty good form right know. I just need to pay more attention to my short game, especially my putts.”

Shohei Hasegawa of Japan, second-round co-leader, is third at even-par 213 and compatriot Kenta Konishi is fourth two shots back.

Defending champion Tianlang Guan posted a third-round 68 to climb into a tie for fiifth with Australia’s Oliver Goss. They are five shots off the lead at 3-over 216.
