Kiradech Aphibarnrat will make his second straight PGA Tour start this week at the WGC-HSBC Champions.

He's coming off a T-3 showing at the CIMB Classic, a finish that earned him $406,000. That means that he's less than $14,000 away from securing special temporary status on the PGA Tour.

And with this week's event having guaranteed money, as long as Aphibarnrat completes all four rounds, he'll earn enough to qualify.

With special temporary status, one is eligible for unlimited sponsors exemptions. Aphibarnrat, who is now No. 66 in the Official World Golf Ranking, tied for 25th at last season's PGA Championship and was T-40 in his last WGC event, the Bridgestone Invitational.
