Cowboys, Dougherty win at Royal Oaks

Oklahoma State won its second consecutive tournament at the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Royal Oaks CC in Dallas.
The Cowboys were lead by individual medalist senior Kevin Dougherty who birdied No. 18 to win by a single shot over teammate Wyndham Clark and SMU’s Austin Smotherman. Four of the Cowboys six players finished T-5 or better.
Oklahoma State, the fifth-ranked team in the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings, won by 16 shot over the 11th-ranked Stanford Cardinal in the play-six-count-five format. In third was No. 19 Baylor at 17-under 1,048. Another shot back in fourth place was New Mexico, and rounding out the top five was SMU at 14 under.
Dougherty shot rounds of 63-68-71 for a wire-to-wire victory at 11-under 202 total. Clark and Smotherman were at 10-under 203.
