Bushnell to be acquired by ATK, companies say
Bushnell Group Holdings, which includes the Bushnell brand of golf rangefinders, will be acquired by Alliant Techsystems, the companies announced Sept. 5.
Alliant Techsystems, known as ATK, is a publicly traded company based in Arlington, Va., and is the world's largest ammunitions maker. It will pay $985 million in cash for Bushnell, according to an ATK news release.
Bushnell, which produces gun equipment that includes riflescopes, night-vision products, binoculars and other accessories in addition to its golf rangefinders, will help ATK expand its focus on the shooting-sports industry as business tightens in its defense-industry segment. Bushnell has been owned by private-equity firm MidOcean Partners.
