Report: Croc attack on Cancun course spurs suit

A New York man who lost two fingers during a crocodile attack on a Cancun, Mexico, golf course is suing the resort's owner for $2.25 million, the New York Post is reporting.

Edward Lunger hit from the sand after an errant shot at Iberostar Cancun Golf Club, then, “She pulled me back and flipped me, and I went to the ground,” Lunger told the Post about the crocodile.

Playing partner Mark Martin said he saw the croc jump up to attack Lunger's arm, at which point he grabbed a heavy boulder to slam the animal on the head just as Lunger happened to free himself.

The lawsuit alleges there were no clear warnings of crocodile activity around the course – as well as claiming that other golfers have been attacked, according to resort staffers, and that the crocodiles were brought onto the property as a tourist draw, the Post reported.
