Tiger Woods was named the 2013 PGA Tour Player of the Year on Friday while Jordan Spieth was selected as the season's top rookie.

Woods won five times in 16 events this season, including the Players Championship. He had three other top-10 finishes, was second in the FedEx Cup standings and finished first on the money list.

Other nominees included Henrik Stenson, Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott and Matt Kuchar.

After starting the year with no Tour status, Spieth played in 23 events. He won the John Deere Classic, becoming the youngest player (19 years, 11 months, 18 days) to win a Tour event since 1931. He finished seventh in the FedEx Cup standings and 10th on the money list. His nine top-10 finishes tied for the most on Tour. He also was selected to the U.S. Presidents Cup team.

Other nominees were rookies Russell Henley, David Lingmerth and Derek Ernst.
