Augusta Invitational draws strong field

Eleven of the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings' top-50 teams are headed to Augusta, Ga.

Some of the nation's top talent will compete at the 3M Augusta Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Forest Hills Golf Club. The teams will play 36 holes the first day and 18 on the final day in the tournament's 36th year.

The teams: Baylor (No. 29), Clemson (No. 24), Central Florida (No. 9), Coastal Carolina, GRU Augusta, Houston (No. 8), Illinois (No. 7), New Mexico (No. 21), Purdue (No. 46), South Carolina-Aiken, South Carolina, TCU (No. 45), Tennessee (No. 39), Texas (No. 18) and Virginia Tech (No. 15).

Last year, Texas beat GRU Augusta by two strokes at the par-72, 7,142-yard course for the title. UCF's Greg Eason will return this year after sharing medalist honors with Coastal Carolina's Sebastian Soderberg at 7 under in 2013.
