Williamson grabs 1st-round lead at Terra Cotta

Bill Williamson carded a bogey-free, 5-under 67 Friday to grab the first-round lead at the Terra Cotta Invitational at Naples (Fla.) National Golf Club.

Williamson, of Cincinnati, was the runner-up to Mike McCoy at last year's U.S. Mid-Amateur.

Norway's Andreas Halvorsen is a shot back in second place while Joe Alfieri of Lutz, Fla., is tied for third at 3 under with Davis Riley of Hattiesburg, Miss. Riley was runner-up to Scottie Scheffler at last year's U.S. Junior Amateur.
