Scores were high on Sunday, but Georgia State was able to fend off North Florida for a win at the Irish Creek Collegiate.
Georgia State shot 5 over in the final round to finish 7 over, one stroke over North Florida.
The Panthers did not place an individual in the top four of the tournament, but were able to hold on for their second straight win or shared title.
Junior Davin White led the Panthers, finishing in a tie for fifth at 2 under. Sophomore J.J. Grey also nabbed a top 10, finishing in a tie for eighth at even par.
North Florida junior M.J. Maguire, who recently lost in a playoff at the Azalea Invitational, took medalist honors. Maguire followed a blazing round of 64 on Saturday with a 3-under 68 on Sunday. He posted only one hole of bogey or worse in the final 36 holes of the tournament, finishing with an 8-under 205.
But Maguire's performance was not enough for the Ospreys, as no other golfer on the team finished in the top 15 of the tournament.
Charlotte and Wake Forest finished in a tie for third at 19 over and Ohio State rounded out the top five at 21 over.
Scoring conditions were rough on the final day; Georgia State's 5-over 289 was the lowest round of the day.
