Miss. State edges Cincinnati for Old Waverly title

Mississippi State shot a final-round 7-under 281 for a come from behind victory at the Old Waverly Collegiate Championship Tuesday.
After starting the day in a tie for third, the Bulldogs made up six shots for its first win of the season.
The Bulldogs finished at 5-under 859. One-shot back was Cincinnati after an 8 under in the final round.
Round 2 leader, Mississippi finished in third after a 2-over 290 on the par-72, 7,088-yards on Tuesday. Florida finished in fourth at 2 over. Tied for fifth was South Alabama, Chattanooga and Austin Peay State at 3 over.
Thanks to a 7-under 65 from Mississippi State’s Barrett Edens and 6-under 66 from Austin Peay State’s Marco Iten, the duo tied for medalist honors at Old Waverly Golf Club.
Mississippi’s Blake Morris, who was tied for first through the second round, finished in solo third at 8-under 208.
