Ihm repeats, Iowa wins Hawkeye Invitational

Steven Ihm, a senior at Iowa, won the Hawkeye Invitational for the second straight year.

Steven Ihm made it back to back at the Hawkeye-Great River Entertainment Invitational Sunday.

The Iowa senior took medalist honors after shooting a 3-under 69 at the Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, leading the Hawkeyes took a team win as well.

Iowa beat out in-state rival Iowa State by 15 strokes, finishing at 11-under 853 at the two-day tournament.

Ihm went bogey-free in his final round, shooting his second round of 69 on the weekend. He finished at 7-under 209, two strokes better than Iowa State's Scott Fernandez.

Iowa State (4 over), Minnesota (6 over), Kansas (8 over) and Marquette (28 over) rounded out the top five.

The win was Iowa's first of the season.
