Entering the season, Campbell had finished either first or second in conference championships 20 times in 22 seasons under head coach John Crooks.

Tuesday, the Camels made it 21 times in 23 seasons, capturing the Big South Conference title by 30 shots over Coastal Carolina at the Patriot at Grand Harbor in Ninety Six, S.C.

Campbell set the 54-hole conference team scoring record of even-par 864, which was 16 shots better than the previous record set by Coastal Carolina in 2013. The total also was four shots shy of the school record of 860 set earlier this season at the Golfweek Conference Challenge, one of the teams five victories this season.

Freshman Louise Latorre won her first collegiate title, finishing at 3-under 213 and winning by a shot over teammate Tahnia Ravnjak. Latorre, who birdied her final two holes, broke the Big South Championship scoring record by a shot.

Kaylin Yost (third) and Lisbeth Brooks (T-7) also notched top 10s for the Camels. readers: We value your input and welcome your comments, but please be respectful in this forum.
