Boilermaker Invitational hosts 6 top-50 teams

It will be a competitive and familiar field at the Boilermaker Invitational Saturday and Sunday at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex's Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Ind. Six teams listed in the top 50 of the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings and seven Big Ten teams will tee off among the field.

The field includes Drake, Illinois (No. 7), Indiana, Iowa (No. 38), Kent State (No. 30), Louisville, Miami (Ohio), Michigan State, Northern Illinois, Northwestern (No. 43), Ohio State, Purdue (No. 45), Toledo, UCLA (No. 15) and Wichita State.

Iowa and Louisville shared the title at last year's event, finishing at 14-over 878.

The seven members of the Big Ten will compete at their conference championship May 2-4 in French Lick, Ind.
