College of Charleston takes 1st Colonial title

College of Charleston placed two golfers in the top three individually en route to winning the Colonial Athletic Association Championship.
The tournament, which was shortened to 36 holes due to rain on Saturday, took place at St. James Plantation in Southport, N.C. College of Charleston, playing in its first year as a member of the CAA, shot a 42-over 618. The Cougars, the No. 55 team in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, were led by five underclassmen.
College of Charleston freshman Laura Fuenfstueck, the No. 83 individual in Golfweek's rankings, took medalist honors, shooting a 4-over 148. She beat out the runner-up by six strokes.
William & Mary and Delaware tied for second, finishing at 57 over. UNC Wilmington (58 over) and James Madison (65 over) rounded out the top five.
