Oklahoma seizes Big 12 Championship lead

Oklahoma, the No. 13 team in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, earned a two-stroke lead over Kansas State through one round at the Big 12 Women's Championship.

The Sooners shot a 3-over 291 at the University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, led by Chirapat Jao-Javanil, who is tied for first at 3-under 69. Jao-Javanil made four birdies and no bogeys on the front nine, but cooled off with two bogey 5s on the back.

Kansas State shot a 5-over 293 through the first 18 holes, placing three golfers in the top 10 individually. Texas Tech shot a 7-over 295, taking third place. Baylor, Texas and Kansas tied for fourth at 9-over 297.

Kansas' Yupaporn Kawinpakorn also shot a 3-under 39, sharing the top spot individually.
