Texas takes Big 12 for 2nd straight year

TCU's Julien Brun surged on the final two days of the Big 12 Men's Championship, but it was the Texas Longhorns that took the title. Texas, the No. 18 team in the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings, placed four golfers in the top 10 in route to a three-stroke win over No. 39 Texas Tech.
The Longhorns shot a 6-over 1158 in the 54-hole tournament at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Trinity, Texas, taking the conference championship for the second straight year. Beau Hossler led the team with a T-3 finish. His best round came on Friday, when he shot a 69 in the final 18 holes of the day en route to an even-par 288 for the tournament. Brun made 14 birdies and two bogeys in the final 36 holes of the tournament.
Brun, the No. 25 player in Golfweek's rankings, took medalist honors after shooting two straight rounds of 66. he finished at 11-under 277, nine strokes better than runner-up Sam Daley of Iowa State.
Texas Tech (9 over), No. 4 Oklahoma State (12 over), Iowa State (15 over) and TCU (18 over) rounded out the top five.
