Cleveland State claims Horizon League title

Cleveland State won the Horizon League Championship for the fifth time in nine years Sunday, beating out Detroit by three strokes at the Mission Inn Resort El Campeon Course.
The Vikings shot a 28-over 892 on the par-72, 6,770-yard course, led by Horizon League Golfer of the Year Andrew Bailey, who took medalist honors.
Bailey shot 2-over 218 on the tournament, beating out runner-up Brendan Leonard by two strokes. Bailey made birdie 12 times and eagle once throughout the tournament , but slipped up with four double bogeys in the 54-hole event.
Michael Balcar and Brendan Byrne also nabbed top-10 finishes for the conference champs.
Detroit (31 over), Youngstown State (47 over), Valparaiso (51 over) and Wright State (76 over) rounded out the top five.
