Loyola-Maryland wins 1st Patriot League trophy

Markus Plunkett and Army could not beat out Loyola-Maryland, the Patriot League Champions.

Loyola-Maryland seized its first Patriot League title in its first year as a member, topping runner-up Army by 10 strokes.

The Greyhounds shot a 21-over 861 on Army's home turf – the West Point (NY) Golf Course. Loyola placed three golfers in the top five, with Jimmy Dengler and Matt Oshrine tying for third at 5 over and Brendan Lemp taking fifth at 6 over.

Army's Peter Kim took medalist honors, finishing at 1-under 209. He sealed a tournament-low 66 in the second round with an eagle on the par-5 18th hole.

Army (31 over), Lehigh (56 over), Navy (60 over) and Bucknell (62 over) rounded out the top five.
