Lexi Thompson failed to hold onto her lead Friday at the Wegmans LPGA Championship, carding an even-par 72 to remain at 6 under.

She now trails the new leader, Brittany Lincicome, by three shots. Lincicome fired a second-round 68 to move to 9 under.

Inbee Park and Lydia Ko also played their way into the mix, Park carding a 66 to move to 6 under and Ko going to 5 under after a 69.

Brittany Lincicome pars out to wrap up a 4-under 68. She leads by three shots at 9 under.

The two players tied for second at 6 under, Lexi Thompson and Inbee Park, are each through 17 holes.

While Lexi Thompson moves to 7 under after a birdie at the par-5 third hole, Brittany Lincicome manages to stretch her lead to two shots. Lincicome is now 9 under after an eagle at the par-5 13th.

Brittany Lincicome's driving has been a strength today. She's averaging about 10 more yards off the tee compared to Thursday and she's missed just two fairways through 12 holes. Her recent birdie at the par-5 12th moved her into the solo lead at 7 under, a shot ahead of Lexi Thompson and Meena Lee, the co-first-round leaders.

Update No. 16: 4:19 p.m. ET

Lexi Thompson adds a bogey at the par-4 18th and she's now tied for the lead at 6 under with Brittany Lincicome.

Update No. 15: 3:57 p.m. ET

Lexi Thompson's lead quickly shrinks from three to one. While Thompson bogeyed the par-4 17th to drop to 7 under, Brittany Lincicome, another long hitter, birdied the par-5 ninth to rise to 6 under.

Update No. 14: 3:47 p.m. ET

Inbee Park has moved to 4 under thanks to two birdies and an eagle in her first seven holes. She's totaled just eight putts so far today, as well.

Update No. 13: 3:28 p.m. ET

A little bit of deja vu for Lexi Thompson, who took a three-shot lead yesterday on the par-5 14th, but lost it with two straight bogeys. She changed her fortunes today, making a par on the par-4 15th to keep a three-shot lead for the time being.

Update No. 12: 3:11 p.m. ET

Lexi Thompson, who started on hole No. 10, birdied the par-5 14th, extending her lead to three shots. Thompson has 10 birdies through 23 holes this weekend.

Update No. 11: 3:05 p.m. ET

A bogey on the par-3 sixth drops Meena Lee to 5 under, joining Brittany Lincicome and Lydia Ko. That gives Lexi Thompson a two-shot lead.

Update No. 10: 2:53 p.m. ET

The sand save is no problem for Lexi Thompson, who gets up and down for par once again. She's 1 under on the day.

On the same hole, Inbee Park's par putt seemed to be just short, but fell in after hanging on the edge for about five seconds. Park is currently T-23 at 1 under for the tournament.

Update No. 9: 2:45 p.m. ET

Brittany Lincicome hit a monster drive on the par-4 fifth, catching the back of a slope and leaving her with a wedge into the green. Both Lincicome and Meena Lee both had short birdie putts on the fifth, but only Lincicome was able to capitalize. She moved to 5 under.

Meanwhile, Thompson pumped her tee ball through the green and into a bunker on the par-3 13th.

Update No. 8: 2:33 p.m. ET

Lexi Thompson may have spoiled a chance on the par-5 12th. She hit a wayward second shot, missing right of the green. She chipped over the green on her third shot and proceeded to get up and down for par. She holds tight at 7 under, one stroke ahead of Meena Lee, who is at even par on the day.

Lexi Thompson birdies the par-4 11th to move to 7 under and take sole possession of the lead.

Lexi Thompson makes a two-putt par on her opening hole, the par-4 10th, and remains at 6 under.

It's a disappointing finish for Stacy Lewis, who bogeys three of her final six holes to shoot 1-over 73. She is even par overall, six shots off the lead. Her playing competitor, Lydia Ko, shot 69 and is 5 under for the championship.

Jennifer Johnson falls out of a share for the lead, bogeying Nos. 8-9 to drop to 4 under. She finishes with a second-round 70.

While Johnson finished bogey-bogey, Suzann Pettersen finishes birdie-birdie, carding a 69 to move to 4 under.

Three of the top four ranked players in the world are currently out on the course. Here's how they are playing:

  • No. 1 Stacy Lewis sits at 2 under. She is 1 under through nine holes and hit all seven fairways on her front nine.
  • No. 2 Lydia Ko is 3 under, 1 under through nine holes today. Like Lewis, her playing competitor, Ko hit all seven fairways on the front nine.
  • No. 4 Suzann Pettersen is 2 under through 10 holes today, 3 under overall. She was 4 under but just bogeyed the par-4 10th. She has 16 putts through 10 holes today.

Wegmans LPGA Championship: Tee times, Rounds 1-2

Lexi Thompson and Mo Martin will be in the notable tee times Thursday and Friday at the Wegmans LPGA Championship as they try for their second major victories of 2014. Thompson, who won the Kraft Nabisco Championship, will play early Thursday and late Friday alongside defending champion Inbee Park and Karrie Webb. Martin, who won the Women's British Open, will play early Thursday and late Friday alongside Paula Creamer and Na Yeon Choi. World No. 1 Stacy Lewis will play late Thursday and early Friday alongside Lydia Ko and Anna Nordqvist.

Wie sidelined 3-5 weeks with finger injury

Michelle Wie will miss three to five weeks of competition due to a stress reaction in the bone of her right index finger, according to a release from IMG. Wie, the 2014 U.S. Women’s Open champion, WD'd earlier this week after nine holes of the LPGA’s brand-new event, the Meijer LPGA Classic at Blythefield Country Club in Grand Rapids, Mich. After WD’ing, she saw Dr. Tom Graham at the Cleveland Clinic, who told her about her finger.

Junior PGA winners to receive PGA Tour, LPGA exemptions

For the first time, the winners of the Junior PGA Championship will earn PGA Tour and LPGA exemptions, the PGA of America announced Tuesday. The boys' champion this week at Miramont County Club will receive an invite to the 2015 Valero Texas Open on March 26-29 at TPC San Antonio. The girls' champion will be invited to play in the 2015 Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic on April 24-27 at Lake Merced Golf Club near San Francisco.
