New Florida head coach J.C. Deacon has landed another recruit for the Class of 2015.

Kyler Tate, a 17-year-old from West Orange High in Winter Garden, Fla., has committed to play college golf for the Gators. Tate is ranked 153rd in the Golfweek/Sagarin Junior Rankings.

"I always wanted to be a Gator," said Tate, who also had offers from Central Florida, North Florida, Kentucky and Washington State.

Tate suffered a broken left wrist a few years ago and struggled with his swing following the injury. But this year, he won the KPMG Stacy Lewis AJGA Open by six shots, one of five top 10s he's recorded in six AJGA starts during the past year.

"My wrist is fully healed now and I take what has happened to me in golf so far as a blessing because I believe I have learned to persevere in this difficult game at a young age," Tate said. "Also, I have to credit much of my getting back on track to my new coach and mentor Chris Couch (a former Gator and PGA Tour winner)."

Tate said he also chose Florida because his childhood friend, Sam Horsfield, is also committed to the Gators. Tate and Horsfield are joined by Jorge Garcia as Florida's 2015 commits.
