Twenty-five 2014-15 PGA Tour cards were handed out Sunday following the Web.com Tour's regular-season finale, the Portland Open.

Here is a closer look at the players who earned them:

Carlos Ortiz

Age: 23

Birthplace: Guadalajara, Mexico

College (turned pro): North Texas (2013)

2014 Web.com Tour earnings (rank): $515,403 (first)

Season highlights: 16 starts, 11 cuts made, three victories (Panama Claro Championship, El Bosque Mexico Championship, Portland Open), six top 10s

Buzz: Ortiz came out of the gates strong this season, winning twice and notching three other top 10s in his first eight starts. He missed four cuts in his final six starts heading into Portland, but closed with his third victory of the season to lock up the money title.

Andrew Putnam

Age: 25

Birthplace: Tacoma, Wash.

College (turned pro): Pepperdine (2011)

2014 Web.com Tour earnings (rank): $320,438 (second)

Season highlights: 18 starts, 14 cuts made, one victory (WNB Classic), five top 10s

Buzz: Putnam finished 50th on the money last season, but his victory at the WNB Classic in April along with a runner-up finish to start the year in Colombia helped him secure his card. Putnam missed the cut at the Shell Houston Open this year and missed the cut at the 2010 U.S. Open in his only two PGA Tour starts.

Zach Sucher

Age: 27

Birthplace: Atlanta

College (turned pro): UAB (2009)

2014 Web.com Tour earnings (rank): $294,166 (third)

Season highlights: 21 starts, 14 cuts made, one victory (Midwest Classic), six top 10s

Buzz: Sucher rose up the money list late in the season, finishing T-4 at the Boise Open and winning the Midwest Classic in July, and tying for second at the Stonebrae Classic in August. He missed a third of his cuts, including his missed cut in Portland, but six top 10s helped his cause. Sucher has made just one previous PGA Tour start, missing the cut at the 2009 John Deere Classic.

Adam Hadwin

Age: 26

Birthplace: Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan

College (turned pro): Louisville (2009)

2014 Web.com Tour earnings (rank): $293,667 (fourth)

Season highlights: 17 starts, 13 cuts made, one victory (Chile Classic), six top 10s

Buzz: Hadwin started the season strong with a T-8 finish in Colombia and a victory in Chile. He also closed nicely with a T-2 showing in Portland.

Justin Thomas

Age: 21

Birthplace: Louisville, Ky.

College (turned pro): Alabama (2013)

Season highlights: 16 starts, 14 cuts made, six top 10s

Buzz: The former Alabama standout hasn't won yet this season, but a slew of high finishes earned him his card. Thomas also made seven starts on the PGA Tour this season, including the U.S. Open (missed cut) and Farmers Insurance Open (T-10).

Alex Cejka

Age: 43

Birthplace: Marienbad, Czech Republic

Season highlights: 12 starts, nine cuts made, one victory (Colombia Championship), three top 10s

Buzz: Cejka won in Colombia and then finished runner-up at the Brasil Champions to start his Web.com Tour season. He also made four of six PGA Tour cuts this season, including at the U.S. Open.

Blayne Barber

Age: 24

Birthplace: Tallahassee, Fla.

College (turned pro): Auburn (2012)

Season highlights: 16 starts, 13 cuts made, one victory (South Georgia Classic, five top 10s

Buzz: Barber, who disqualified himself two years ago at PGA Tour Q-School, earns his first PGA Tour card behind a strong season that included a victory at the South Georgia Classic and four other top-10 finishes. Barber made two of three cuts on the PGA Tour in 2013.

Tony Finau

Age: 24

Birthplace: Salt Lake City, Utah

2014 Web.com Tour earnings (rank): $254,315 (eighth)

Season highlights: 19 starts, 15 cuts made, one victory (Stonebrae Classic), four top 10s

Buzz: Finau had three top-5 finishes before winning the Stonbrae Classic in early August. He was also pretty good at making cuts, as he missed just four in 19 starts.

Jason Gore

Age: 40

Birthplace: Los Angeles

College (turned pro): Pepperdine (1997)

2014 Web.com Tour earnings (rank): $253,046 (ninth)

Season highlights: 14 starts, 10 cuts made, six top 10s

Buzz: Gore’s T-2 showing in Portland was his second runner-up finish of the season. His six top 10s aren’t too shabby, either.

Steven Alker

Age: 43

Birthplace: Hamilton, New Zealand

College (turned pro): none (1995)

2014 Web.com Tour earnings (rank): $249,536 (10th)

Season highlights: 15 starts, eight cuts made, one victory (Cleveland Open), three top 10s

Buzz: Aside from a victory at the Cleveland Open, Alker made just half of his cuts this season and posted three other top 10s, the last of which, though, came in Portland.

Andres Gonzales

Age: 31

Birthplace: Olympia, Wash.

College (turned pro): UNLV (2006)

Season highlights: 18 starts, 11 cuts made, one victory (Utah Championship, five top 10s

Buzz: All five of Gonzales’ top 10s have come since May, including his victory at the Utah Championship. This will be Gonzales’ third time earning his PGA Tour card. He has one top 10 in 44 previous PGA Tour starts.

Jon Curran

Age: 27

Birthplace: Hopkinton, Mass.

College (turned pro): Vanderbilt (2009)

2014 Web.com Tour earnings (rank): $231,854 (12th)

Season highlights: 19 starts, 10 cuts made, one victory (Brasil Champions), three top 10s

Buzz: Curran made just more than half of his cuts this season and had just three top 10s, but what a difference a victory makes – Curran earned more than half of his earnings for 2014 by winning in Brazil.

Derek Fathauer

Age: 28

Season highlights: 19 starts, 15 cuts made, five top 10s

Buzz: Fathauer might have missed the cut in Portland, but it’s been a consistent season overall for him. He nearly won the Nova Scotia Open before losing in a playoff. He earns his PGA Tour card for the second time. He made 25 starts in 2009, but notched just one top-25 finish and missed nine cuts.

Cameron Percy

Season highlights: 18 starts, 11 cuts made, one victory (Price Cutter Charity Championship), four top 10s

Buzz: Percy’s August victory at the Price Cutter Charity Championship moved him into the top 25. The Australian has had his card before, making 58 PGA Tour starts since 2010, but has just two career top 10s in those appearances.

Daniel Berger

Buzz: The former Florida State standout doesn’t have a victory this season, but he’s finished T-2 once and T-3 twice.

Season highlights: 17 starts, 10 cuts made, four top 10s

Buzz: Like Berger, Randolph doesn’t have a win, but he has three top-3 finishes, including a runner-up finish at the BMW Charity Pro-Am.

Buzz: Homa won the BMW Charity Pro-Am in May, one of his three top 10s this season.

Buzz: No victories, but six top 10s and just four missed cuts is impressive.

Season highlights: 18 starts, nine cuts made, one victory (Boise Open), one top 10

Buzz: Wheatcroft had just one top 10 and made the cuts nine times in 18 starts, but that top 10 was a victory in Boise. He has previously played three full seasons on the PGA Tour, but has just one career top 10 in PGA Tour competition.

Ryan Armour

Age: 38

Birthplace: Akron, Ohio

Season highlights: 20 starts, 13 cuts made, five top 10s

Buzz: Four of Armour's five top 10s this season have come since June, including his runner-up finish at the United Leasing Championship. He hasn't played a PGA Tour event since 2010 after holding his card from 2007-08.

Season highlights: 20 starts, 13 cuts made, one victory (Rex Hospital Open), two top 10s

Buzz: Like a few other members of The 25, Smith used a victory to earn the bulk of his money. His victory at the Rex Hospital Open was one of just two top 10s this season.

Bill Lunde

Season highlights: 18 starts, 13 cuts made, four top 10s

Buzz: Lunde regains his PGA Tour card after a Web.com Tour season in which he totaled four top 10s and finished third at the Midwest Classic. He also had five straight top-15 showings before missing the cut in Portland. Lunde spent 2009-13 on the PGA Tour, notching seven top 10s, including one victory.

Fabian Gomez

Buzz: While also making three of five cuts on the PGA Tour this season, Gomez managed to notch three top 10s in 16 starts on the Web.com Tour. This will be the third time Gomez has earned his PGA Tour card after also holding his card in 2011 and 2013.

Season highlights: 19 starts, 12 cuts made, one victory (Nova Scotia Open), one top 10

Buzz: Sloan, 87th on last year’s Web.com Tour money list, missed four of his first five cuts, but a playoff victory at the Nova Scotia Open (his only top 10) earned him enough money to help him get his card.

Kyle Reifers

Season highlights: 18 starts, 10 cuts made, four top 10s

Buzz: Reifers used a T-21 finish in Portland to overtake Sebastian Cappelen for the 25th and final spot on the money list. Reifers was previously a PGA Tour member in 2007 and 2012.
