Preseason rank: 30
Final 2013-14 Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: 32
2013-14 in review: The Wildcats won their first tournament out of the gate a year ago at the ‘MO’Morial. What followed was a season of extreme growth as Kentucky played a loaded schedule, including a trip west to the Stanford Intercollegiate, where the team finished eighth. Kentucky climbed as high No. 17 in Golfweek's rankings during the fall season.
Notable departures: Liz Breed
Key returners: Sarah Harris, Haley Mills, Cylia Damerau
Newcomers of note: Grace Rose
Fall outlook: Breed was a strong senior leader for the Wildcats last year, but Mills, Harris and Damerau amount to a solid core. Head coach Golda Borst adds Rose, who won the Kentucky State High School Golf Championship in the fall, plus two other freshmen who will have the opportunity to step up for the team. Borst is a determined coach who focused on changing the culture at this SEC school last year. With new golf facilities at the UK Golf Club, the Wildcats have all the tools they need. Expect Kentucky to pick right up where it left off last spring.
