Wake Forest Demon Deacons

Preseason rank: 27

Final 2013-14 Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: 29

2013-14 in review: The Demon Deacons played a tough schedule, the highlight of which was a third-place finish at the Bryan National Collegiate at the end of March. It was one of two top-5 finishes of the season, which ended with a close call at the NCAA West Regional. Wake Forest tied for ninth, one spot away from advancing to the national championship.

Notable departures: Olafia Kristinsdottir, Elizabeth Doty

Key returners: Sierra Sims, Mariana Sims, Marissa Dodd

Newcomers of note: Erica Herr

Circled on fall calendar: Cougar Classic

Fall outlook: Despite losing Kristinsdottir to graduation and Doty to USC, Wake Forest has a solid core in place that could be aided by the addition of freshman Erica Herr, who qualified for the 2013 U.S. Women’s Open. All the pieces are there for success, Wake Forest just must perform.
