Preseason rank: 17
Final 2013-14 Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: 28
2013-14 in review: Auburn struggled to find a rhythm all season. The spring looked promising as Auburn started with a fourth-place finish at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, but the season ended early when Auburn failed to advance out of the NCAA East Regional.
Notable departure: Marta Sanz, Diana Fernandez
Key returnees: Claera Baena, Alex Harrell, Victoria Trapani
Newcomers of note: Sophia Schubert, Kelli Murphy, Michaela Owen
Circled on fall calendar: Mason Rudolph
Fall outlook: Trapani returns as a strong senior leader, but Auburn’s freshman class also looks very promising. This is a gritty squad that has been driven by heartache in the past two seasons, playing through head coach Kim Evans’ ovarian-cancer diagnosis (Evans is now cancer free) and the loss of assistant coach Danielle Downey in a car accident. Auburn plays with passion and will need it during a season that doesn’t have an easy spot.
