Preseason rank: 11

Final 2013-14 Golfweek/Sagarin ranking: 11

2013-14 in review: It was an important season for Vanderbilt, which broke through at the Central District Invitational in February to claim its first team title in seven years. From there, titles followed at the 3M Lady Jaguar Intercollegiate, the SEC Championship and the NCAA East Regional. Vanderbilt didn’t quite play to that potential at the NCAA Championship, and finished 10th.

Notable departure: Simin Feng

Key returnees: Kendall Martindale, Jenny Hahn

Newcomers of note: Cindy Ha, Alex Farnsworth

Circled on fall calendar: Annika Intercollegiate

Fall outlook: Feng, despite being a freshman, came up big for the Commodores last season (leading the team in scoring and winning twice), and her low score will certainly be missed. Ha, however, showed considerable promise during the U.S. Girls’ Junior and U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links this summer. Martindale will be a senior leader, and look for Hahn to also contribute. The key for this team’s success is finding consistent scores from the Nos. 4 and 5 position in the lineup.
