LPGA Q-School: Tubert, Yost, Liu share early lead

Three players share the lead through 36 holes of Stage I at the LPGA Qualifying Tournament. Emily Tubert, Yu Liu and Kaylin Yost were tied at 5 under at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif., through two rounds of play.

The top 100 players and ties out of the field of 285 will advance to the second stage, which will be held at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla., Sept. 30–Oct. 4. The field is playing both the 6,525-yard Palmer Course and the 6,544-yard Dinah Shore course this week at Mission Hills.

Sammi Stevens and Annie Park tied for fourth, one stroke back at 4 under, while a group of three golfers sat two back at 3 under.

Yost, who played her college golf at Campbell, fired a 4-under 68 in the second round; Liu, who left Duke after one successful season to turn pro, shot a 3-under 72; and Tubert, who played collegiately at Arkansas last year, shot a 1-under 71.
