Georgia picked up college golf’s first tournament victory of the season after winning The Carmel Cup on Sunday.

The Bulldogs, led by junior Lee McCoy, finished five strokes ahead of Vanderbilt at Pebble Beach (Calif.) Golf Links. No. 9 in the Golfweek preseason rankings, Georgia shot a 17-under 1,062 total in the play-six, count-five format.

Vanderbilt jumped into second place after a final-round, 12-under 351. TCU finished in third at 6 under.

It was Vanderbilt senior Hunter Stewart claiming the individual title where he went wire-to-wire for his second collegiate title.

Stewart shot rounds of 67-70-68 at Pebble Beach for an 11-under 205 total.

McCoy finished in second two strokes back of Stewart, while Texas Tech sophomore Hannes Ronneblad finished in third another two shots back of McCoy.
