It wasn't long ago that John Hahn was disqualified from his first tournament as a European Tour member.
Now, the American finds himself the second-round leader of the Africa Open after carding a 10-under 61 Friday at East London (South Africa) Golf Club.
Hahn, who lives in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., began his round birdie-birdie-eagle-birdie and finished with eight total birdies, an eagle and no bogeys. At 16 under, he leads Ricardo Santos of Portugal by two shots.
Hahn, who earned his European Tour card via Q-School, was disqualified from the first round of the Alfred Dunhill Championship last December for making a swing along an alignment stick. He's now made four of five cuts since, including tying for sixth at the Nelson Mandela Championship.
Englishmen Oliver Fisher (13 under) and David Horsey (12 under) are third and fourth, respectively.
