William McGirt carded a 6-under 65 in the third-round of the Norther Trust Open to lead by two-shots heading into the final round on Sunday.

George McNeill (66) and Charlie Beljan (68) are at 10 under and will play in the final group with McGirt to try and catch the 54-hole leader.

Many notables are just a few shots back and will try and catch McGirt tomorrow: Bubba Watson (64) is at 8 under along with Jordan Spieth (67) and three-time winner on the PGA Tour this year, Jimmy Walker (67).

Update #24: 5:51 p.m. EST

Sang-Moon Bae can't par from the front of the green after leaving his approach shot short. It lips out to 3 feet and he'll finish with a bogey – 1-over 72. The 36-hole leader will be at 8 under heading into the final round.

Aaron Baddeley birdies his last hole from 18 feet to get to 7 under for the tournament.

Update #23: 5:38 p.m. EST

After a wayward tee shot, William McGirt has to play a wedge shot underneath trees on the 18th. He gets it to the green though and has 30 feet for birdie. McGirt finishes by tapping in his 4 footer. It's a third-round 6-under 65 for McGirt, and currently holds a two-shot lead.

Sang-Moon Bae slides in a birdie putt at 17 and only three back of McGirt.

Update #22: 5:16 p.m. EST

A hard right-to-left braking putt for Aaron Baddeley drops on the 16th hole and that jumps him to 7 under.

George McNeill parred the last hole to stay at 10 under heading into final-round Sunday. McNeill carded four birdies, an eagle and a bogey in his third round for a 5-under 66.

Update #21: 5:05 p.m. EST

Brian Harman, who was leading earlier in the third round, has made back-to-back bogeys on 14 and 15 to drop to 8 under. He made a two-putt par on the par-3 17th.

Update #20: 4:57 p.m. EST

A bogey at the 15th for William McGirt drops him to 12 under for the tournament and two-shot ahead of Charlie Beljan and George McNeill. He follows up his bogey with a par on the 16th.

Update #19: 4:47 p.m. EST

Dustin Johnson gets some luck on the par-3 16th. Johnson was a little short with the tee shot (9-iron), but got a nice bounce from the rough and it rolls to 2 feet from the cut. He converts and Johnson will get to 8 under.

Jimmy Walker finishes with a birdie on the 18th and that gets him to 8 under for the tournament. He'll be chasing the leaders tomorrow for his fourth PGA Tour victory this season.

Update #18: 4:40 p.m. EST

After a bogey at the 16th, Jordan Spieth birdies the 17th from 10 feet to get back to 8 under for the tournament.

Update #17: 4:32 p.m. EST

Charlie Beljan makes birdie from 20 feet on 14 and that jumps him into solo second place at 10 under.

Brian Harman put his tee shot into the front bunker on the par-3 14th and he can't get up and down as his par putt lips out. That drops him back to 9 under and into a tie with George McNeill and Jason Allred.

Update #16: 4:22 p.m. EST

Another birdie at the par-4 13th drops for leader William McGirt. He now has a three-shot lead over Brian Harman. With that birdie, McGirt is 7 under on the day through 13 holes with a scorecard that has eight birdies and one bogey on it.

Brian Harman's birdie attempt at the 12th just stops short of the hole and rolls back. He can't believe it. He remains at 10 under for the tournament.

Bubba Watson posted a bogey-free 7-under 64 at Riviera on Saturday. Watson, who is looking for his first victory since the 2012 Masters, is at 8 under for the tournament, and currently four-shot back of leader William McGirt.

Update #13: 3:46 p.m. EST

William McGirt's best finishes came at the 2012 and '13 RBC Canadian Opens (runner-up). McGirt has an eagle attempt at No. 11 and he leaves it 6 feet short, but will make it for birdie. He takes a two-shot lead over Brian Harman.

Charlie Beljan makes a 20 footer for eagle and that takes him to 10 under for the tournament; tied with Harman.

Dustin Johnson had a good look at eagle at No. 12, but just misses on the right side of the cup. He'll settle for birdie and get to 8 under for the tournament.

36-hole leader Sang-Moon Bae almost jars his approach shot on No. 10. He'll settle for birdie and move back to 9 under for the tournament after making a bogey on No. 8.

William McGirt with a birdie on the 10th hole as he and Brian Harman make the turn. McGirt takes a one-shot lead over Harman at 11 under.

Update #9: 2:52 p.m. EST

Cameron Tringale makes an eagle at the par-4 ninth to get to 7 under for the tournament. Two holes later, he birdies again to get to 8 under for the tournament and only two shots back of leaders Brian Harman and William McGirt. The 2009 Georgia Tech graduate is looking for his first victory on the PGA Tour and his first top-10 of the season.

Bubba Watson and Kevin Chappell have the two lowest scores on the course at Riviera. Both players are 5 under on the day and tied at 6 under overall. Watson birdied Nos. 10,14,16, 1 and 3 and is through 14 holes, while Chappell had birdied Nos. 12-13 and 16-18 through 12 holes.

Brian Harman three-putts the par-4 seventh from above the hole and makes his first bogey of the day. He'll drop a shot and be in a two-way tie for the lead with William McGirt at 10 under. Charlie Beljan had a good look at birdie to move into a tie with Harman and McGirt, but he miss read it and remains at 9 under.

Another birdie at the par-3 sixth moves Brian Harman to 11 under. William McGirt also birdies to stay within a shot of Harman at 10 under.

There's a new leader at the Northern Trust Open and he goes by the name of Brian Harman. Harman, a Georgia graduate, birdied the par-4 fifth to get out of a tie for the lead with William McGirt. Harman is looking to capture his first PGA Tour victory. He is currently 4 under on the day.

Looks like the scoring may be low out at Riviera today. Jordan Spieth is 4 under through his first five holes today. Spieth is looking for his second PGA Tour victory. He already has two top-five finishes this year on Tour (Hyundai Tournament of Champions and AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro Am)

George McNeill is 3 under through three holes this morning in the third round. McNeill's total score is 8 under.

All three players in the last group – Sang-Moon Bae, Aaron Baddeley and Robert Garrigus – made birdie on the first hole.

No surprise here. Three-time winner this season, Jimmy Walker is making his way up to the top of the leaderboard. Walker is currently at 6 under for the tournament after birdieing his first two holes in the third round.

The third round is underway in California after players had to come back to finish their second round this morning. Making an early move is Pat Perez who is 4 under through four holes. Perez, who started on the back nine at Riviera on Saturday made an eagle on the par-4 10th and then birdied 11 and 12. He is currently 5 under for the tournament.

5 Things: D. Johnson leads; J. Walker shines again; more

At one time during the morning wave, 15 players were tied for the lead. But Dustin Johnson, with just one bogey on his card, posted a 5-under 66 and took a lead that held up until play was suspended because of darkness. Ten players finished one shot back at 4-under-par, including three-time 2013-14 winner Jimmy Walker, with J.B. Holmes on that mark through 16 holes when play was put on hold until 7:30 a.m. local time Friday.

Tour Tracker: D. Johnson on top as play halts

World No. 5 Justin Rose makes his return from a shoulder injury at this week's Northern Trust Open, in a stocked field that also includes Jason Dufner, Matt Kuchar and three-time 2013-14 winner Jimmy Walker. Dustin Johnson, meanwhile, jumped out to the lead with a 66 in the morning groups.

Yesterday, caddie Michael Greller flashed back to the 2012 Northern Trust Open when he took a week off from his job as a sixth-grade math and science teacher in Washington to watch Jordan Spieth compete as an amateur.

Scott Verplank made a quadruple-bogey "snowman" eight, two doubles and a bogey and was 10-over-par when he withdrew from the Northern Trust Open on the ninth hole of the first round, citing a bad back.

Some Tour events keep public from practice rounds

At the recent Farmers Insurance Open and this week's Northern Trust Open, spectators have been banned from the grounds on Tuesdays. The move is an outgrowth of the revised security policies issued late last year by the Tour.
