Looks like Steve Stricker will make the trip to Marana, Ariz., this week for the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship next week after his brother had a successful liver transplant.

The championship is set to start on Wednesday at The Golf Club at Dove Mountain.

Stricker was leaning towards not playing next week as his brother, Scott, was still waiting on the transplant. He told the Associated Press that he had been practicing, but his mind was not on golf.

It was on Feb. 13 when Stricker received a phone call that a liver was available for his brother. It was a 10-hour surgery on Friday.

"It went way better than they expected," Stricker said. "It's still going to be tough. He got through the hard part."

His brother had been in the hospital since Jan. 6.

"It's been crazy, but I'm going to come play since he's doing so well," Stricker said.
