Auburn eyes repeat at Mobile Bay Intercollegiate
Auburn will look to defend its title at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate in its home state Monday and Tuesday at the Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course in Mobile, Ala.
The Tigers will have to fight off three other teams listed in the top 50 of the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings and host team South Alabama at the par-72, 7,212-yard course. The teams will play 54 holes – 36 on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
The field includes: Akron, Auburn (No. 27), Chattanooga, Davidson, Georgia State, Illinois State, Kentucky (No. 36), Memphis (No. 41), Middle Tennessee State, Ole Miss, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi, Texas State and Wake Forest (No. 30).
"We are looking forward to defending our team and individual championship this week in Mobile," Auburn head coach Nick Clinard said in a release. "The golf course is a very good test and it's a wonderful opportunity to play a lot of players to see what they can do in a tournament as opposed to qualifying at home. We look forward to competing and bringing some hardware home Tuesday evening."
