Flipped bill out: Fowler returns with flat bill

Rickie Fowler's flat bill returns after a week off at the Northern Trust Open. Fowler wore a flipped bill at The Riv.

Last week at the Northern Trust Open, Rickie Fowler showed up with a new haircut and a new flipped bill on his head.

Not only were the new hats noticeable, but both outfits were, too. During the first round, he wore a light blue zigzag shirt with a gray flipped bill, and in the second round, Fowler wore a pink striped shirt with a white and pink hat.

Where have we seen this look before? How about on fellow Puma staffer and PGA Tour member Jesper Parnevik, who has had this look for years.

Why the change? Well, only Fowler can answer that, but this week, Fowler showed back up in his normal flat-bill cap.

Fowler, the 14th-seed in the Bobby Jones bracket, beat No. 3 seed Ian Poulter 2 and 1 in the first round of the WGC-Accenture Match Play at Dove Mountain in Marana, Ariz. He had an eagle, three birdies and an eagle on his card.

So, do you think this new flipped bill will catch on with Fowler and his fans? Possibly. If we see it more often on Fowler, expect his fans to support him.
