Stanford's Stackhouse earns LPGA exemption

Mariah Stackhouse of Stanford won the UC Irvine Invitational to earn an LPGA exemption into the Kia Classic.

Stanford's Mariah Stackhouse took medalist honors Tuesday at the UC Irvine Invitational, earning an exemption into the LPGA's Kia Classic in the process.

Stackhouse shot 4-under 212 at Santa Ana (Calif.) Country Club to win by two shots over Pepperdine's Grace Na.

Stanford also won the team title, finishing at even-par 864. The Cardinal placed three players, including Stackhouse, inside the top 4 – Casey Danielson and Lauren Kim tied for fourth for Stanford.

Texas A&M (13 over), Pepperdine (15 over), Gonzaga (27 over) and Long Beach State (30 over) rounded out the top 5.
