Galvin Green's new Aron jacket was designed by golfers for golfers. This full-zip, stretch-fabric, shell-layer jacket features Gore-Tex Paclite Technology.
The Aron jacket contains more than 1.4 billion microscopic pores, which are 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet but 700 times larger than a water-vapor molecule. Thus, the Gore-Tex membrane is completely waterproof from the outside, while allowing perspiration to escape the inside. The jacket is also windproof and breathable.
"By using even thinner taping in the inside, we could reduce the total weight of the jacket by another 10 percent," said Mats Lundqvist, Galvin Green's chief designer.
The jacket comes with "rain channels" at the sleeve-ends, to lead water away from the hands. It also has adjustable chest width, bottom edge and sleeve-ends.
Sizes range from S-XXXL, and comes in five colors. Cost: $460
