Murray takes first-round lead at Saguaro Amateur

Grayson Murray, who will tee it up with Arizona State in the spring, fired a 7-under 64 on Friday to take a one-shot lead at the Saguaro Amateur.

Washington's Trevor Simsby is one shot back, while Arkansas' Taylor Moore is two behind. USC freshman Rico Hoey is in solo fourth at 4 under.

This is the first year of the Saguaro Amateur, with the three-round tournament being held at the par-71 Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz.

The tournament features 108 players from around the world.
