Toy Box notes: Nike balls in Hawaii
Monday, January 13, 2014
At the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, Nike’s Scott Brown played the new RZN Platinum golf ball, while Russell Henley used the new RZN Black ball.
What’s the difference? Both are four-layer balls, but the Black is low-spinning and the Platinum is mid-spinning.
Nike says the RZN Platinum is 10 percent softer than the 2013 20XI ball, but Paul Casey went further.
“I think that’s a conservative number,” Casey said. “It feels a lot more softer to me.”
