Suzann Pettersen, the second-ranked player in the Rolex Rankings, withdrew from the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic on Tuesday, citing a shoulder injury.

Pettersen told the Golf Channel that she is nursing a sore shoulder and wants to give it another couple weeks of rest. She is expected to make her season debut at the IPS Handa Women's Australian Open Feb.13-16 in Victoria, Australia.

The LPGA season opener begins Thursday at Ocean Club GC in Paradise Island, Bahamas.
