Nike unveils McIlroy-inspired polo
Monday, January 12, 2015
ORLANDO – A year after Rory McIlroy joined the Nike Golf team - and both parties have got more acquainted with each other - McIlroy has officially designed his own polo.
The Lightweight Innovation Color Polo is following Nike’s new apparel slogan ‘Built To Move.’
McIlroy had a lot of input on the shirt, said Merritt Richardson, Vice President/Global Category Business Director Apparel, Footwear and Accessories for Nike Golf.
The shoulder seams – although the shirt is seamless because Nike wanted no distractions for the player – have been moved onto the upper back of the shirt for the best possible mobility throughout a golf swing.
It is lightweight and dry fit, as well as bright and athletic.
All four colors will be his scripted outfit for the Masters for Rory. It will be paired with the modern tech pant.
Colors: Medium base gray/venom green, vivid blue, geranium and medium base gray/turf orange

On the women’s side, Nike Golf has introduced the Sport Knit Skort and Premium Dress.
The skort is both breathable and dry fit. The shorts underneath detach allowing for the player to put a different, bright color under the skirt. It comes in black, grey and white for now and later in the year (likely April), Richardson and her team will introduce colors such as bright grape and geranium. The skort costs $75.
The Premium Dress has a woven skirt on the bottom and a stretch material on top for better range in motion during the swing. It has leather detailing down the sides of the dress as well as breathable material on the upper back. The dress comes in one color – black – and is priced at $130.
