Tiger Woods will not be playing Sunday at the Farmers Insurance Open for the first time in 14 starts. That's because Woods carded a 7-over 79 on Torrey Pines' South course, and effectively missed the 54-hole cut.

Gary Woodland, on the other hand, shot 2-under 70 to take a one-shot lead entering the final round. Woodland is 8 under overall while Jordan Spieth and Marc Leishman are tied for second at 7 under.

See how the third round unfolded Saturday in La Jolla, Calif., including Woods' round:

On the green: Tiger sinks the putt for birdie.

TIGER ON THE DAY: Even through 2 holes (1 under for tournament)

• • •

Hole No. 10: Par 4, 416 yards

Off the tee: Tiger will begin his round on the back nine. He's nine shots back of leader Jordan Spieth. His first tee shot of the day misses a little right of the fairway.

Approach shot: Tiger didn't miss the fairway by much, but he ends up with a bad lie in the rough. As a result, he can only play the play up the fairway.

Around the green: Technically, Tiger still has a wedge into this green, but he sends his third shot long. From behind the green, Tiger's fourth shot is hit to tap-in distance.

On the green: Tap-in bogey to start.

TIGER ON THE DAY: 1 over through 1 hole (even for tournament)

Elsewhere on the course: The third round won't include Phil Mickelson, even though Lefty did make the cut. The reason: Mickelson withdrew late Friday night, citing muscle pain in his lower back. Click here to read more.

Hurt back has P. Mickelson's status at Farmers in question

It was a beautiful day for a walk – and that’s exactly what Phil Mickelson chose to do after hitting his tee shot on the par-4 second hole in Thursday’s first round of the Farmers Insurance Open.

• T. Woods cards 72 as S. Cink leads at Torrey Pines

Tiger Woods' first round of 2014 was a bit of a struggle. Woods missed fairways and greens, and struggled with his speed on the greens as he shot an even-par 72 Thursday on a South course at Torrey Pines that was nearly four shots tougher than the North course. He's eight shots back of Stewart Cink, who leads the Farmers Insurance Open after an 8-under 64 on the North course.
