Cal started the spring season off Tuesday with a victory, rallying to capture the Arizona Intercollegiate at Sewailo Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.

The Golden Bears began the final round two shots back of USC, but while the Trojans struggled to a 24-over 308, Cal posted a 3-over 287 to finish at 1 over, 14 shots clear of runner-up Arizona.

New Mexico (19 over) was third while USC (20 over) ended up fourth.

Cal also boasted both individual co-medalists, Joel Stalter and Brandon Hagy. Stalter produced a final-round rally of his own, carding a 4-under 67 to finish at 2 under along with Hagy, who began the day two shots back of second-round leader Anthony Paolucci of USC. Hagy shot 74 on Tuesday while Paolucci fell into a tie for fifth after a closing 79.
