BRYAN, Texas – For the first time, the winners of the Junior PGA Championship will earn PGA Tour and LPGA exemptions, the PGA of America announced Tuesday.

The boys' champion this week at Miramont County Club will receive an invite to the 2015 Valero Texas Open on March 26-29 at TPC San Antonio. The girls' champion will be invited to play in the 2015 Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic on April 24-27 at Lake Merced Golf Club near San Francisco.

“We are incredibly honored to partner with events on both the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour, which allow our Junior PGA champions a chance to test their skills against the world’s best players,” PGA of America President Ted Bishop said. “The Junior PGA Championship is one of the premier events in all of junior golf, and this further illustrates just how strong the field is each year.”

This year’s PGA Junior will be contested today through Friday. Here’s a tournament preview, as well as first-round tee times.
