Richard Sterne (undisclosed injury) and Thomas Bjorn (neck, shoulder) have withdrawn from the 2014 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2, the USGA announced Wednesday.

Scott Langley will replace Sterne, and Andrew Dorn will step in for Bjorn.

Langley, in his second full season on the PGA Tour, was the first alternate from the Memphis, Tenn., sectional. Dorn, a senior at Coastal Carolina, was first alternate from the sectional at Springfield, Ohio.

Dorn, of West Chester, Ohio, advanced to the sectional after a course-record 66 at the local qualifier at Maketewah Country Club in Cincinnati.
