Scores: Second round

Local favorite Nathan Smith used his course knowledge to grab a share of the second-round lead at the Sunnehanna Amateur.

He is tied with Charlie Danielson (68) of Osceola, Wis., and Nicholas Reach (69) of Moscow, Pa., at 5-under 135.

Sam Burns, a high-school senior from Shreveport, La., who shared the first-round lead, shot 71 and is tied for fourth with Doug Ghim (66) of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Will Murphy (67) of Columbia, S.C., at 136.

Defending champion Steven Ihm, a recent Iowa graduate from Peosta, Iowa, slipped to a share of 10th after shooting 72.

The third round of the 72-hole stroke-play event will be played Friday.
